Thread: Ky Lake Weather Man

Welcome to KY Lake. :D

Even a 5mph wind on the lake seems like a lot more than that. There's nothing around to block it or slow it down.

Having fished some of the lakes east of here that are protected by bluffs and rolling hills, there is no comparison. You can fish those lakes when a hurricane is blowing.

Look at the bright side... you could have blanked.

I feel your pain Rowdy. I can't count how many times I made a decision to fish or not fish based on the weather forecast only to find later they got it wrong.

One time I returned home a day early because of rain and thunderstorms forecast throughout the night. I drove all the way home only to wake up the next morning to calm winds, an overcast sky and no rain or storms. The front didn't arrive till after dark. They missed the forecast by about 10 hours, I missed out on a great day to fish.

They have enough trouble forecasting sun and rain, I've given up totally on them accurately predicting the winds. When I go to Kentucky, my wind socks are always going with me.

And to think our weather guy actually calls his weather segment his Accu-weather forecast. LOL!

I always add another 10 mph from what the weather channel says. It's always windy on KY Lake.

Calm looking good! Fish for 1 hour,He called for 5 mph, o k dont need drift sock,....... Wrong!! Had 3 good fish before my partner got his poles untangled!! wind came up the draw and never stoped!! He said get your sock out..... what sock??? Mean loook ,So we drift at high speed till 1:30, went home with 16 fish .

Drive 6 hours total, fish time 7 hour, catch 16 fish.
