Haven't been on it, but hopefully I will get to sometime this year.

I hear is a decent lake to fish though.

Bass are big, and there's lots of them.
Catfish are good sized (but I don't target them)
Bluegill & Shellcracker run the range from handsized to some bruisers.
Crappie are on the small side ... but the increased creel & removal of the size limit should help reduce the population. Hopefully that will translate to some bigger Crappie in another couple of years.

All the Crappie are supposed to be Black Crappie. And there are some Blacknose in there, too. But, the Blacknose won't reproduce more Blacknose, unless they spawn with each other. IF they spawn with a regular Black Crappie ... the offspring will not have the black stripe.

The Crappie there love minnows ... unfortunately, so do most all of the other fish in there :p But, the Crappie like tube jigs & Roadrunners, too

Anything else you'd like to know about Cedar Creek ??

    ... cp

I fish Cedar creek more than any other lake. There is a great population of crappie in the lake but they all seem to be small. It's rare to catch one in there over 8 inches. Last year the fish was a little bit bigger than the year before. Like pappy said, hopefully by the state lifting the size limit, the fish will be able to grow bigger. I always use minnows under a cork while fishing for crappie there. I don't think they've really started biting yet, but give it a few weeks and you should have no trouble getting your limit.

I fished Cedar Creek Lake this afternoon for 4.5 hours(11am to 3:30pm). Caught 4 Largemouth Bass on 2 lb test line while trying for Crappie biggest was 14".
Caught 2 bluegills 6.5" and one 15" Catfish.
Zero Crappie but I am not the best at fishing all that wood. Still I thought a couple crappie would have wanted my minnows.
Sure was nice out in the boat for the first time in almost a year !
