Default Best way to mark lake structure when water is down?

Just wondering if you guys had any ideas on how to mark Lake structure when the water is down. My local lake is as low now as it's ever been, theres a lot of structure you can see now that will be under water in a few weeks. Just wondering how I should mark this structure? Tie a bottle to it? Mark something on the bank in front of it? Just looking for any ideas? I don't have a gps.

Triangulate. Find a fixed point of reference that you can use as "gun sights" to align yourself when the water is back up. Pick something that is not easily moved like a house corner, huge tree, street sign etc.

Take a picture of the "stuff" and start a little notebook with pics of it and pics of your fixed points along with a description. Try to estimate how deep of water it will be in when the lake comes up and an aproximate distance from the bank. A bit of simple right triangle trig will get you pretty close provided your depth estimate is decent.

Next thing is start saving your pennies for a cheap gps. Then you can stand right in the middle of your structure and mark it. Try to find a gps fishfinder combo when someone is upgrading in the classifieds. If you have both a hand held and a boat gps you can mark stuff on dry ground now that will later be under water adn find it with your fish finder.

the hand held gps units work alright. you can pick them up pretty cheap, and some even take map chips. I use one for a back-up it works well.
