Well my partner to be going can't now, said his wife isn't doing well, so now I am not sure if I will come or not. He wanted to go so bad but his wife has been sick now since early winter and can't leave her at home. So I have one more try to get someone else to go with me. Believe me I want to go but a 3 hour trip by myself isn't what I want to do. Hopefully, I will know something by tomorrow.

We are hoping to NOT have to cook dogs :p ... but, even if we do have to, I don't think we'd need any more than 3 or 4 pkgs of buns. A bottle of each of the condiments should suffice. Thanks for offering to bring these things.
THE TIME I suggested would be EST (Lex time) .... and Holmes Bend is on CST ... so it would be 6:30 - 7:30 their time. Basically what I was shooting for was to have everyone be there around sunrise. I allowed an hour, for those traveling from a distance to be able to have some leeway in arrival time ... and also to give everyone a chance to meet & chat awhile, before hitting the water.
I would think that the ramp parking area would be as good a place as any to do the meet/greet. We'll also be congregating at the picnic shelter, later that afternoon for the cook out, so stragglers will have to wait until then :D
We're flying a little blind on this one, being as it's our first real get together ... but, we'll wing it if we have to.

I've actually had just the opposite experience.... but, most of my GRL Crappie fishing experience has been up around the State Park & Island area. Probably caught 90% or more right close to the bank :p
That's probably due to not so much wood/brush in that area ... and any piece of wood that's available is a prime spawning spot :D
I'm thinking like you ... I don't believe the front will do all that much, seeing as how they aren't all that shallow yet, anyway. It may just keep them where they already are, depth-wise ... and that may be a good thing, since we'll have reports of what depths they're being caught, and that may hold for the time of the get together.
