Which end of the lake do you intend on fishing? It is a a large lake after all.

There are plenty. Just go to Kentuckylake.com and go to the lodging section. Rates are available at many locations. I have stayed anywhere from Bee Springs campground to Big Bear Lodge and they all have economic spots or cabins depending on what kink of accomidations you want. Do you just need a spot to lay your head or do you care what is in the cabin? For us....most of the time is spent on the water anyway. All we cared about was warm, dry, and had cooking accomidations.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

I would shoot for the southern end of the lake. Maybe down around Murray.

The lake is shallower there (albeit it might make a negligble difference) and farther south (again perhaps a neglible difference) so it might warm earlier and offer better fishing.

You need to be open to the idea that the wind might preclude you from getting out on the main lake and it might be necessary to trailer to another ramp in order to fish a different bay. Plus, if you watched the Bassmaster classic you know this, one bay or creek arm might be the hot spot on a particular day or week.

Good luck with your trip down.

hi i seen your post about a place to stay on ky lake. im from northwest ohio. and me and several friends go to ky lake each fall. we have stayed at lakeview cottages. its a great place to stay. rooms are anywhere from 60 to 165 a night. its about 10mi from paris landing. the only down fall is the boat ramp is kinda steap. but the owners are 2 of the nicest people you will meet. and do whatever it takes to make your stay a good one. hope this helps
