I got caught on Jonathan Creek by a surprise storm last year. Just about sunk my boat trying to get it back on the trailer at the "new" ramp. If it hadn't been for another boat that had been caught in it too and some guys that had just pulled up in a truck checking the size of the waves, I probably would have. I was by myself and there is no way I could have gotten the boat loaded without sinking it. It still took quite a bit of water over the transom. I had to time the waves and ride one in on the trailer. They were so big that the trailer was either completely submerged or completely dry sitting on the ramp.

That ramp on the north side of the bridge is in a terrible location when the wind gets up. Anything but an east wind makes it almost impossible to deal with.

The lake is back up to right at summer pool right now. Get ready for the annual spring see-saw.

That picture looks about right on the size of some of them. We stay on Pelee Island and take the larger, covered ferry. Like I said, I never go more then 1 mile from the island but they blow up real quick. I have no clue how big the waves were but I had a point of the island that I had to get around to get to my marina and I just about lost it on the point. Two of us went for it and the other boat closest to the shore got rolled over. They were fine and the boat got pushed up onto the rocks. They were able to recover the boat but I can't imagine how much that cost and how much damage they had to have. I never made it around the point. As the other guy lost it, I full gunned into a 180 and went about 50 yards and got up near the sandy beach. Did a stupid thing once and now I am like a baby on the water being very careful knowing how close I came to losing the boat.
"You should have been here yesterday!!!
