Lightbulb New soldier to the area

I'm new to the area and was trying to find any good spots to fish for Specks/Bass in the Fort Campbell area. I've been to Lake Barkley a couple of times and had some success with the bass but I haven't been any other places. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :D

    Grimmy,

You are lucky. You are less than an hrs. drive aways from some of the best all around fishing in the Nation not just in KY. My choices would be KY Lake, Barkley, Tenn Riv, Cumberland, and Ohio river, maybe Lake Beashear and Malone. Plus you always have the lakes across the border there in TN. Good luck on whatever you are after. Let us know what kind of boat you have, how far youre willing to drive, and mainly what youre after(crappie/bass) and maybe some others can chime in that live close. I know some guys based at ft campbell that bass fish a whole lot. Im sure there are plenty of crappie guys around there too.

My TRUE love is crappie fishing. I've got an 18' Bass America and I'm willing to drive just about anywhere the fish are biting. I've spent about 15-20 days on the water this year since I came home in March so I haven't found anything solid yet. Thanks tho eky

I would even take directions to a few of the lakes.

The only lake I've fished around here is Lake Barkley. I put in at the State resort park which is just off of 68/80. All you have to do is go up I-24 to Cadiz and follow 68/80 west and you can't miss it. There are a some good areas right near the dock that I found this spring and I can't wait to try them now that Fall is here.

No prob I'm heading to KY Lake on friday with my family to stay in a cabin and fish for 4-5 days while I'm on leave. I hope the crappie are biting everyone seems to think that they will be.
