Went a couple of weeks ago. Crappie were biting at that time fairly shallow. We caught a few deep, but that day the bite was better a little more shallow11-13ft. deep. All fish were caught on minnows. Had some cloudy weather that day, on a sunny day they probably would have been deeper. Check out brushpiles anywhere from 11-20ft. deep. Fish size and quality, has really been up and down this year. Its been a odd summer and fall, with all the rain. We really caught some good ones, one day just to go back and catch smaller ones. One day they will be deep and the next shallow. Maybe things will settle down and the fish will get on a normal pattern. I may go Friday, if I do I will update.

Friday, didn't get on the water untill about 10am. Cold front was coming in and really windy to. Caught a good mess of fish, but had a lot of small keepers. The big blacks just was not biting for us today. We were catching some keeper fish, so I just decided to stay put and catch what we could. We were really limited to coves and bays with the wind. Best spot was a brushpile in 19-20ft. of water. All fish came on minnows, fished right over the brush.

Good catch sledge. Ive heard some people say barren crappie fishing has been sub par the past few years b/c of the corps fluctuatin' the water when theyre spawnin. I used to live in Bowling Green and if the crappie grow near as well as the bass there then there should be some slabs in there. I never crappie fished barren when I lived there but bas fished it a lot. Its an awesome lake, kind of like a mini Lake Barkley in ways. Sounds like those worried about the crappie need to get out there and give it a try:p..... I know there are tons of BIG brushpiles out in that lake, I wish i would have been draggin a minner over em back then instead of a big ol 10 in' worm.
