    Smile Ohio River Crappie

Went to Smithaland Pool friday, was able to catch 16 keepers from 10-13.5". The fish were caught on emerald shiners, could not get any hits on my jigs. The water temp in the river was 76.4 degrees. Good day on the water!

Nice Huck. :D Those Oh. river crappie have some shoulders too. Thanks big time for the report, Ive refrained from hitting the Ohio until I heard some fish are beginning to show up, your post tells me all I need to know. Ive been harassin' some of those Cave Run fish, I guess nows time to switch my focus, plus the river is only 15 min from the house compared to 40 min to the Cave. I assume you were up in the tribs. Good looking fish and post some more if you go again. BTW, are the shad up in there w/ the crappie yet?

Slabber, you are correct, I caught those fish in the creeks. Did not see very many shad friday, but that should change in the next 2-3 wks. Good luck with those river fish!
