    Default Crappie?

Not much activity on the board lately, not looking for anybody to tell where there honey holes are but with this unusual summer, is anybody catching any decent size crappie this summer, just wonder how everyone is doing.

Ezgo, about all of my fishing been at night during the summer months. Been finding shad on lakes and setting the boat up anywhere from 30 ft to 40 ft. The fish have been caught mostly around 4 to 14 ft. After the fish start's biting been catching just as many on jig as minnows.:D

A bit new to chasin Crappie in the summer time after the spring spawn, but they are biting. Getting some fair to good catches when I go out, but they are bitting well enough that I am trying out a few new techniques and polishing up on some skills. There have been very few slabs put on the stringer this year as most have been in the 9-12 inch size this year on area lakes. Its been a little tough to leave the water with a stinger full of legal sized fish. Dont really know whats up with that as its not the norm here.

fishing this summer has been tough for me, i mostley fish ky river because of convenience. can't get the water to slow down enough to get the fish active, more rain forcasted for this week, oh well at least i am blessed enough to get to go out and at least try.

I feel your pain on the river, everytime I go to my fathers place it is up with more current than we wish for, as for the creeks I was catching small crappie useing a 1/4 oz rattle trap, but that seemed to be the lure to use for most fish, even them big ole drum was hitting this, but I'm going back two weeks ago.

went down to creek two nights ago to put out some minnow traps, just tryng to do anything that involves fishing until the water settles down, well that night we had a down pour and it washed away my traps, i had them tied to a tree but it broke the rope, they were probably full of minners to. oh well maybe tonight i will tie some jigs to stay busy, more rain forcasted.

Sometimes it just isn't in the cards.
