Just wondering if anyone else's crappie spawn fishing this year has been as bad as mine. This has been easily the worst year I have ever had trying to catch spawning crappie! I am 59, and have never seen a year like this one. Virtually no shallow bite at any of the reservoirs that I have tried. I have fished Marion, Kanopolis, Milford, and El Dorado. I'm sure a little of it is timing, and not being able to get out quite as much. Barely fished at all in April, but have been out a pretty fair amount in May. Have only caught enough to clean twice (5 both times). Other fish have been biting, but have not been able to catch crappie to any degree. I hope your fishing has been better than mine.
