Sorry just saw your post. It is made from a Razor scooter. Had all the aluminum blocks and hardware in my garage so I had no money in it at all and folds down telescopes and is solid. I'm very pleased with it. Here is some pics of the base and top. Aluminum rod is solid and is about 12" so you can slide it up if you want but plenty high for me all the way down.
