Similar to huntnfishnguy, I go small when the water is this cold. I use titanium heads to get more weight when compared to lead. I tie feathered jigs. I can fish straight down and not move the jig. Just simply holding the rod provides all movement needed. The other advantage, I feel feathered jigs have in cold water, they seem to absorb and release Slab Sauce better than plastics. Once the water temp gets into the 50's I switch to plastic
I'm waiting for the next sunny day to try behind the damn back in the outflow stream. Maybe Friday. The water warms up quicker than the lake and has been good to me in the past
