Thread: Looking for Big Hill help

This weekend I am thinking of taking my 2 year old fishing and Big Hill crossed my mind. Has anyone been fishing there and if so is it worth a trip from Baxter Springs? I may settle on Bone Creek as well, just want to get my boy into some fish.

It's been a few years but I have caught plenty of crappie at big hill; 20 to 1 were dinks but big numbers would be fun for a kiddo. I did my best form timber hill to mound valley but I am by no means a expert on big hill. I usually go there for bass. Its been even longer since I went to bone creek; we killed big numbers of all species in the small lake but nothing large enough to bring us back. Have you seen the KDWP report; Big Hill Reservoir / Region 5 / Fishing Locations - Public Waters / Where to Fish in Kansas / Fishing / KDWPT - KDWPT its old, but interesting. Good luck.
