I have tried it a couple of times not much luck, if the water warms up by then could try the rip rap along the dam. Then can hit otter creek. or Eagle creek. This cold weather is not helping any.

I was looking at the KDWP fishing report and saw John Redmond Res. has a good overall rating. Has anyone been fishing there? And are you having any luck? I am planning for me and a group of my friends to go out May 10th and was thinking of hitting there and if no luck maybe going to Malvern or Pomona from there. I'm from KC and don't want to go that far if it's not going to be worth it. We could hit Perry, Clinton, or Hillsdale easier.

Caught more out of creeks that feed Redmond than I ever have in the lake itself. I am trying to recall the last time I caught a crappie in the main lake.
I'll be camping up there over Memorial Day weekend. Will probably fish Wolf Creek most of the time again. I have never been on John Redmond but if it's to windy for Wolf Creek I was considering giving John Redmond a try.

If you see a lot of people fishing on the dam then the bite is on. No people nothing biting
Thanks. I guess we will bypass that Lake then and go somewhere else. I hope the camp goes well for everybody. I would like to be there and meet everyone but won't be able to make it.
Never have fished there.
Someone told me watch out if the wind comes up.
It can get down right nast with it being shallow.

Take a kid fishing--even a old kid
Couple dozen folks fishing the rocks when I came across the dam on my way home from Coffey County Lake this afternoon.
Better get there bite is on. In the 10 foot gully right out from the dam.
