La Cygnes declining?
Went out Saturday to La Cygnes for a meat trip. Arrived just before sunrise alone at the outlet for just a little while. Bass tounry guys came out round 8. Lots of boats on the lake by 9. FIshed till 2. Caught just over 100 whites, couple 16" lmb also same size as eash other. New fish partner was having an off day, we werent cycling well and had some terrible recovery times trying to pull only 5 once the wind got the waves right. Were fairly decent with 3 and 4 fish passes. Should have caught a lot more. Only had about 10 decent white bass. Noticed most of fish being caught appeared to be same year class. No wipers caught. Did look at the south end but didnt fish it. Last year saw poor wipes and blues compared to previous years.
Although Ive always lived on other lakes, I've always considered la cygnes my home lake. Having fished it over 20 years, Im starting to believe the lake is declineing. Pressure just seems incredible. Thinking this will not be my home lake this year. Anyone else thinking the lake is on some kind of decline?
