Default Crappie Camp Brad and Chuck (Scouts Out and Redleg1007)

KS Crappie Camp was a SUCCESS! Thanks to Shane and all the folks who put this together! Thanks to Slab for the coolest KS Crappie Camp 2013 Tshirts! Thanks to all the other sponsors who provided great prizes! Great event.

We got to El Dorado late on Friday, set up the tent, grilled some Ribeyes and hashbrowns, and had some other refreshments until way too late. Got up the next morning and wore out some campstove bacon, eggs, buscuits, and coffee. (Food is a big part of our camp theme, I guess!) Thanks for all the tips from the fellows for the new guys on the lake. We started out with no trolling motor (Checked and changed all seven fuses up front, bent over under the steering wheel for an hour...no trolling motor. Finally remember the one breaker back by the battteries...of course that was it (will check the easiest one first, of course, from now one).

So back in business, we hit the trees that Shane and Ragnar told us about and caught a bunch of fish. Lots and lots of small crappie, small wiper, and an 'almost keeper' walleye. Had a complete blast. Started out spider rigging, but had more success (less hangups) holding and dipping one or two poles with minnows. Chuck caught his first ever crappie, Congrats! Came back off the lake a little late, and everybody was gathered up for the prize drawings, group pictures, and an AMAZING fish fry cookout. RAGNAR is an esp good cook! Thanks to everyone for all that food! GREAT EVENT that I hope continues and I can contribute to more in the future. I can't believe how friendly and helpful every single person at the camp was. Great group of human beings!

    Thanks again, Brad

    Default Crappie.com get together

Had a great time at the get together yesterday. Nice to get to meet and visit with so many from the website that share reports and stories a lot of the time. Didn't have a spectacular day but we did catch some crappie (none that we kept)along with some other species & had some great laughs with some of the catches we made. Really had a great day fishing with my Son, Tyson (CaptainT16) we don't get the chance to fish all day together very often, so that was real blessing to me. To all of you that made it all happen a great thank you! The food & give aways were awesome. Thanks again!!! Ben from Salina!!

Don, thanks for the update. Was enough crappie caught for the fish fry to feed everyone? One 14.25" slab would feed you but did everyone else get some fillets to eat?
Lets see some photos of the fish and fish fry.

more photos will post shortly by a few others. we also had waleye and wippers caught since the bite was alittle slow on good crappie. we had plenty of food for one and all. enough food and drink for all, plus mosquitos, flies, and a few other critters that wasnt invited. any luck on your boatr motor yet?
