Just to let everybody know, Crappie.com, Lowrance, and Crappie Pro are giving away some great stuff. Sat should be fun.
It's just around the corner. Just go some really cool stuff for door prizes. Ed from Crappie.com sent the dirty dozen something very cool. You will have to wait till Friday to see... Call me if you have any questions.. C-ya soon...
I'm still planning to come. If it works out, I'll provide 30 minutes or so of musical entertainment and a mic/ sound amp for the prize giveaways. I'm debating whether to bring boat as I haven't launched from my 24ft RV before. Who has open seats in their boat??
Shane..
I'm planning on attending unless my schedule crashes at the last minute. I'll review the list
of items and help out where needed. Sounds like a blast. I play old-time fiddle and a friend of
mine plays banjo with me and also has a fishing boat.. sent him a link to this thread.. hopefully
he can make it.. we can play a little toe-tapping campfire music..
I recently bought a Porta-Bote (folding 12ft boat) that I took out on Eldorado for the maiden
voyage.. went well but didn't really have time to fish. Pretty amazing little boat.
Boy! Eldorado water is WAY UP from being 4ft down.. sheesh! With the rain subsiding I imagine
they will be letting some water out.
Looking forward to next weekend.
Fishinfiddler
Fishinfiddler,
Hope to see you and your partner. I love toe-tapping music by the campfire.
My camper will be there on Thursday. I will let everyone know what number on Wen. Does anyone know how to mix jalapeno Hush Puppies? Maybe I will see if they have them at the store. Call me if you have questions. 316-323-0010
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend. Hope everyone attending has a great time and have safe travels.
Sorry I can't make it, was looking forward to meeting my fellow crappie.com members. I hope you have great weather, a great bite and most importantly a great time! Look forward to hearing your reports! Good Luck and Be Safe!
Had my weekends mixed up. We might make it out for a little while on Saturday. My wife wants to try to catch a walleye. It'll be her first time on the new boat.
Camper is at #20 loop 7. Let's get camp started.
Have a good time folks! Wish I could have made this one! Maybe next time.
I'm driving out Saturday morning, should be there by 7am. If i get there early enough i'll swing by the camp and say hi.
I have a question I will be bringing my girlfriend but she won't be fishing. Is there a place I can park just the trailer at so she can have the truck to go out and about in?
Sure. (Boat trailer) enough will have camping spots to park at. Camping trailer we can make work if needed. What days?
Yes just the boat trailer for Saturday. I have a open seat for Saturday also if anyone is interested.
Sadly, I'm going to have to spend the weekend getting ready for a business trip next week. I planned to go out fishing most of the day Friday, camp out, and fish Saturday.. but.. I could just scream.. aarrrrrrrrhhh!!
I do plan to come out a few hours Saturday evening and meet some of you folks and listen to the
'big one got away' stories.... maybe with a cooler of PBR ... be safe and have fun y'all.
Any updates??? <*)}}}><
The fishing was pretty tough from hearing everyone's reports at camp at the end of the day but there were a few very nice crappie in the buckets and some other nice fish too. We ended up catching about a dozen - all 8"-9" so didn't keep any. Best pattern for us was one of the little points off the dam that I found a small brushpile on. Caught them on minnows and jigs there. Caught a lot of white perch too and a few white bass. We ended up packing up and heading home after dinner last night (which was delicious!). We planned to stay both nights but missed the AC - lol!
Thanks to Shane and everyone involved with helping to put this on! Shane gave out tons of prizes last night. We had a blast and enjoyed meeting everyone although I will never remember all the names. We are planning to bring our pontoon back down for the Fishing Has No Boundaries event so I'm sure we will see some of you again in a month. Stay safe!

KS Crappie Camp was a SUCCESS! Thanks to Shane and all the folks who put this together! Thanks to Slab for the coolest KS Crappie Camp 2013 Tshirts! Thanks to all the other sponsors who provided great prizes! Great event.
We got to El Dorado late on Friday, set up the tent, grilled some Ribeyes and hashbrowns, and had some other refreshments until way too late. Got up the next morning and wore out some campstove bacon, eggs, buscuits, and coffee. (Food is a big part of our camp theme, I guess!) Thanks for all the tips from the fellows for the new guys on the lake. We started out with no trolling motor (Checked and changed all seven fuses up front, bent over under the steering wheel for an hour...no trolling motor. Finally remember the one breaker back by the battteries...of course that was it (will check the easiest one first, of course, from now one).
So back in business, we hit the trees that Shane and Ragnar told us about and caught a bunch of fish. Lots and lots of small crappie, small wiper, and an 'almost keeper' walleye. Had a complete blast. Started out spider rigging, but had more success (less hangups) holding and dipping one or two poles with minnows. Chuck caught his first ever crappie, Congrats! Came back off the lake a little late, and everybody was gathered up for the prize drawings, group pictures, and an AMAZING fish fry cookout. RAGNAR is an esp good cook! Thanks to everyone for all that food! GREAT EVENT that I hope continues and I can contribute to more in the future. I can't believe how friendly and helpful every single person at the camp was. Great group of human beings!
Thanks again, Brad

Thanks for the report and pics!
Had a great time at the get together yesterday. Nice to get to meet and visit with so many from the website that share reports and stories a lot of the time. Didn't have a spectacular day but we did catch some crappie (none that we kept)along with some other species & had some great laughs with some of the catches we made. Really had a great day fishing with my Son, Tyson (CaptainT16) we don't get the chance to fish all day together very often, so that was real blessing to me. To all of you that made it all happen a great thank you! The food & give aways were awesome. Thanks again!!! Ben from Salina!!
sounds like a great time
Thanks for the kinds words scottsout. nice to meet you ben and capt t16. So many great cooks and help it was truely awsome and a blast. Thanks for the steak brad and chuck. usually when i go away and fish allweekd i lose 5 pounds. think i gains 10 this weekend.
Congrats to Springhill wannabe for winning the big fish contest. (he must have had a great guide) first fish of the day and it turned out to be the biggest.) 14.25"
SO many great people, looking forward to seeing you all on the water. just remind me of your name please. probably and 35-40 people for dinner, and alot of people swinging in and out thru the weekend.
THANKS JIM, SHANE, MENDOZA FOR ALL THE extra effort in the cooking department and the many many others who helped bring food, clean up, and such.
Slab at CDC, crappie pro, midwest marine, dr sonar dvds, and the many others who donated giveaways. every body left with something extra.
Looking forward to next year. PS step up and take charge and you can pick the lake.
Don, thanks for the update. Was enough crappie caught for the fish fry to feed everyone? One 14.25" slab would feed you but did everyone else get some fillets to eat?
Lets see some photos of the fish and fish fry.
more photos will post shortly by a few others. we also had waleye and wippers caught since the bite was alittle slow on good crappie. we had plenty of food for one and all. enough food and drink for all, plus mosquitos, flies, and a few other critters that wasnt invited. any luck on your boatr motor yet? (capt dan)
Pictures and story to come.
