    Default Glen Elder

Went to the Glen this weekend. Probably should of checked before I went. Was free entrance day and they had a little kids fishing tourney going on Saturday morning which I think is great. The biologist there puts it on, sounds like they had over 150 kids show up! Scott has created a monster but thats a good thing but things were pretty busy around the Glen. Anyway, we tried some piles early without much luck and to be honest wasn't very patient. Ended up trolling some flicker shads (pearl white was the best) and picked up 5 nice crappie (15" was the biggest, see pic below) and some whites and a 6 and 8 pound wiper. Talked to a guy at the cleaning station who caught a limit in the Walnut creek area. Was catching them in 3 fow. I need to have Chatt or Cecil haul me around there some time and give me some pointers. P.S, why do people always want to ski where your fishing? I mean the Glen is big lake and was pretty calm yesterday. Got the whole lake to ski on and they got to be buzzing around where your fishing.

This happens to me all the time. It is either the jet ski's or the idiot ski boats but they always seem to gravitate to wherever I happen to be fishing. I truly think it is a "look at me" thing. They think they are cool and they must come close enough for us to "see" them so they can show us just how good they are......
Kinda like the morons running wide open in their fancy ski boat and they are all standing up as they are running across the lake.
I have very little patience for idiots and it seems that it is getting worse out there. I wish the price of fuel would go back down so people could go to disney world or something instead of coming to the lake!

Yea, I agree. It's hard to get you to look at 'em if theyre way across the lake so they come check you out and hope you get a look at them too. That, and alot of folks are just nosey. It's their time of the year though, so I dont let it bother me any. Congrats on the fish you caught.
