    Default Kool well system?

Anyone recommend a live well cooling system for me? I was thinking about investing in one but haven't talked to anybody with one about it.

I have never thought about a live well cooler. My fish always stay alive in my live well. I run the pump continuously once I put a fish in there. The only fish I have die in the live well are big wipers or white bass. My crappie and walleye stay alive all day if I am out that long.
How big is your live well and how many fish are you putting in it at one time? Do you leave the pump running all the time or put it on the timer?

I use a cooler in my bait tank now but have never had a reason to use one in my live well. My fish always stay alive but of course I dont put 30 fish in there at a time either. I only keep what my family needs and I release all the others so my live well is never overcrowded.

Not sure how many gallons but it's probably 3.5 ft long by 1' wide and usually don't put more than 8 or 10 fish in it. I usually keep it on a timer, haven't lost many fish in it unless it gets really hot. I've heard people say let it run all the time and others say keep it on a timer, I really don't know which is the best.

We just take frozen water bottles to cool the water down a bit in the extreme heat! Hope this helps!

Put in a recalculating pump, take a cooler and fill with frozen 2 liter coke bottles. When you get first fish fill live well then turn on recurck pump add a frozen bottle. You will be surprised how long one will keep it cool. Just swap out bottles when water starts to get warm again.

is it always fresh water in the livewell or same water from the beginning of the day? you might just need to put in new non-polluted water in.

I have a cool well and they work really well if you have a spare compartment to keep the ice and radiator in. I have also had good luck with just recirculating the same water all day long.
