Sounds like some dippin' gonna be happening or is!!
They are holding the water at Glen Elder because the Solomon River is flooded down stream and they are watching the Missiouri River. I haven't been down to the dam since Sunday. They are catching fish and three boat ramps are open. Please stop praying for rain we have had enough for awhile. The good news is there is no new water coming into the lake.
They are letting water out of Glen Elder of today about 1300 cuf. Talked with Chris he said they hope to have the lake at pool mid September. Crappie is still being catch as well as other spieces.
Thanks everybody for the information.
Got back yesterday from our trip up there. Suprised on how few boats were on the water during the week, only 6 or less at the boat ramps each day. Found the fishing to be better on the eastern 1/3 of the lake where the water was still not muddy. Drifted and jigged for walleye alot and found we could also catch crappie at the same time with minnows. The most productive depth (for us) was on the original shoreline in 9-10ft of water. Crappie were scattered everywhere, even caught some on nightcrawlers. Ended up catching about every species in the lake :-).
Granite creek boat ramp was fun with all the debri pushed up on the boat ramp, had to wade out and clean out the bigger stuff everytime. Walnut boat ramp was good, just gravel roads getting there.
Good trip. No need to be intimidated by the high water, fish still have to eat everyday. :-) haha.
Tim.
As of today they are letting out 1500cf per second. Lake is really going down and fast. It has dropped about 10 inches in the past couple of days. Still good fishing. Mike was out fishing most of the day because of the wind out of the east it was tough fishing.
