Tuttle Creek

I've never fished but we drove around it today. Few questions for those of you that have. Have you ever fished the river pond/lake and can where do you put a boat in on that thing? Also, on the main lake, from what I have seen the only two decent ramps are the Marina, and the Corp ramp in Tuttle Cove? Did see some nice standing timber in the lake, have no idea the water is in those areas but looked like might be a good place to hunt for some specks.

You can launch in the river pond I know a friend that loved to fish it for walleye. Never heard of many crappie caught there. Have fished the lake from shore and caught a couple dknt know the name of the cove but it's the first cove up from the dam on the west side of the lake. We did alright

Dad and I used to fish it a lot but I haven't fished it in several years. We used to catch lots of big crappie out there in the spring then tons of white bass and catfish in the summer. We always camped and launched from Stockdale.

I've fished the River Pond much more recently. It has a couple nice ramps but isn't much for crappie. It does have a very good saugeye population and I've never had much trouble getting a limit of those once I found them. Awesome bowfishing in the River Pond too if you're into that. We've gotten onto the gar and buffalo so thick you could almost just shoot into the middle of the school a couple times. Some monster flatheads in the lake and River Pond too.

S- I've fished it twice and only above the dam. I put in at the State Park Marina (Wildcat is the private marina there, I think). There is timber in that cove (says McIntire Creek on Google Maps) and I caught crappie on the trees in there (nothing big), but the air temp was about 100 and the water wasn't much cooler. And I remember it was windy; hard for me to stay on the trees really well. Then I tried the west side timber (Tuttle Creek and further north, Mill Creek). Had a really good time but hardly any keepers on the day I went. Caught small crappie, white bass and gar. Then I 'pulled cranks' from Mill Creek all back down south in about 20 feet all the way to the dam and across the dam. White bass nailed the cranks the whole way. I liked the lake, but I still haven't had that SPECKtacular day yet. Brad

Man, I need to start proofreading my posts before I post them!! Thanks for the info guys. I'm gonna have to give her a try one of these days. Always like to try a new lake.
