Should be a pretty decent year I would guess we had a decent amount of rain fall and the temperature stayed pretty decent though the summer

Hey guys, we came out to Kansas rabbit hunting for the first time last year, and everyone we talked to said it was a down year in the 5 year rabbit cycle. Don't know if there is any truth to that, but we did pretty good after we figured out what type of habitat to hunt, which was completely different than what we are used to hunting here in Indiana. The KDWPT website doesn't have this years forecast on it, it still has last years, has anyone heard how this years population is going to be? We had a blast and are planning on making this an annual trip, just trying to figure out what to expect this year.

What part of the state are you planning on hunting? The terrain changes quite drastically as you get out in west ks. If you would like a unique rabbit experience I would drive another 100 miles and pare it up with pheasant and quail hunt.
The population around here seems about "normal". NE Kansas... I wouldn't rate it extreme at either end of the scale, but would know more after bird season opens.
Last season we didn't see too many in our trips to western KS. Good luck to you.
I am just pullin' your leg.:D
First off who hunts rabbits? I'd rather chew on my leather boot then eat one of those. Second...who drives to Kansas to hunt rabbits? Pheasants, quail, turkey's, deer, waterfowl, great fishing and you choose rabbits?
Rabbits good eating but I always hate cleaning them stink worst than a hog if you ask me
