Default LCM format Maps and .AT5 format maps difference explained here

I have been selling maps for Lowrance units for probably10 - 13 Years. These maps were in the old LCM format. They were good maps but Ihad a few people copy them and give to friends. Most people are honest and didnot do this but there were a few that I caught doing this. The people that werehonest which was most appreciated the hard work time and money I have putin these maps over the years so they did right by me. I now have maps in thenew .AT5 format that are encrypted to the card and can't be copied justlike Navonics maps. But the main reason I posted this article today was to letmy old customers know you can't view the old LCM maps in the insight planner. You can still view the old LCM maps on your home computer and laptop also. With the newinsight planner software you can view my maps on your computer also but withthe insight planner software on your PC you can plot waypoints etc and transferthese to you SD card that you have in a USB card reader. Then you can removethe SD card and put it your GPS and upload the waypoints to your unit. Theinsight planner is not capable of showing your position in your boat on thelake. If this were the case lowrance wouldn't sell as many units. I had a few oldcustomers see my post about the insight planner software and were going topurchase it view the old LCM maps but I informed them this would not work anddon't buy it. I hope this clears up a few things about the LCM and AT5 maps? Ithink I might have a major announcement in a week or so and will have some good deals for the fishermenhere and in Missouri. I heard that lowrance may introduce a new product shortly so stay tuned.

I assume you are referring to viewing the new .At5 I make. For this you will need the insight planner software. Which I hope to have shortly. Plus I been authorize by Navico to sell all their products including the GPS units. I will have some package deals hopefully in a couple of weeks. As soon as everything is finalized. I plan to sell their units with maps and the insight planner software all in one package. I will also make a short DVD for free download from my website for the planner and how to use the new raster maps I developed for the GPS units. they really like the way I desinged my new maps and I am really excited after all these years to make my dream come true. I have a lot on the drawing board that is going to get the big boys attention in the mapping world when I release it. The one thing I plan is to give good support on everything I sell. You're not going to dealing with someone on a telephone way off somewhere. I make the maps and I know how they work how the GPS works. If I don't know the answer I can sure find out in a hurry because I know the right people to call at Navico. The engineers work several days last week to get my maps working on their units like I ask them to. I am going to put a total new product out there for fishermen and I think you will like what is coming in the future.

Say I don't know how that got highlited in red but what it means is when someone purchased my old LCM maps I sent instructions on how to vuew my LCM maps on their computer. If you have a lowrance emulator on your computer you can copy the maps to maps0 in the emulator directory. You have to install one of lowrance emulators before this maps0 is created. The best emulator I found was the LCX 104 on windows XP system. The the XP operating system you could make waypoints on my map and send to the SD card in the USB slot. With any other operating system you can't save waypoints to the SD card. You view them and place the cursor over a spot but you then have to write down the lat lon and type it in your GPS manually.
