It's mainly for the enhanced Point-1 performance. Yes you should update your units....

Anyone have trouble getting the update on a SD card? I've tried and tried with no luck. Having trouble getting the files extracted to my computer. I'm not real tech savvy. I'm ready to give up.

Here is what I did and it worked. Download the update from Lowrance site to your computer. Copy and paste to the SD card. Install SD card in your unit and turn it on and it will update. Prior to updating, I also copy my waypoints, trails, routes to my computer just in case. Loosing all that data would make a grown man cry.

I don't know how the updates work from Lowrance work. I am curious does any of the updates update basic contours? I bought a Mark 4 DSI this spring and it has contours for lakes like Glen Elder, Tuttle Creek, but i fish Milford almost exclusively and it doesn't have any contours for it do they every update their basic contours? Do they have an update that includes the contours of Milford or am I going to have to purchase an after market chip?
