Default Dr. Chatt saves the day

So were out on Glen Elder lake catching fish when my buddy gets a hook in his finger. We can't get it out and he
is ready to go back to the ramp- keep in mind we have only been fishing 45 minutes . At that point I know our only hope
is finding the man they call Crappie Chatt. So we do find him and I say "Chatt we have a serious problem here, can you
help". Without blinking, without even yet seeing how bad it is , he says "I can do this". My buddy gets in his boat and from a
distance it looks like Chatt pulls on that hook like he is trying to rip his arm off. I expected screaming...but none is heard. Two more
pulls like that and the hook is out. Turns out-my buddy said he hardly felt a thing and Chatt was using fishing line to do
this. "Everyone should learn how to do this" he says . Couldn't agree more, so Dr. Chatt if you can find a video link to your
technique please instruct us all. What a guy!!!!!

There are several good youtube videos on how to do this.

How To Remove a Fish Hook Pt 1, Hook in Arm - Cross Current TV - Episode 1 - YouTube

Removing a Buried Fishing Hook - YouTube

This technique works well and after I had it used on me removing a crankbait hook out of my finger and since then I've always had a pair of side cutters as part of my equipment to first cut the buried hook off or away from the crankbait so the other hooks don't get buried while trying to remove the already buried hook.

I was so sorry that we 'miss understood' about holding the hook shank down,,,hard!! Thot I was going to die when I had to hold it after 2 misses. It had to hurt!!! 2 excellent videos. Had 2 pulled outa me, pulled one out of the back of a fisher that hooked himself on a bad cast, and this one. Worked everytime. Whew, you can't believe the looks from others when it comes out so well. <*)}}}><

I was just watching 'The Next Bite' and they did the same trick on it. Iced the finger down good before they ripped it out, but it shot right out. Hope I never have to use that one.
