    Default Hydro Graphics

Well the winds were just absolutely Howling today......

Since Fur Bearer Season / Coyote hunting will soon occupy most of my time. I decided to do some hydro dipping today. Some may remember my 25cal AR I built and then hydro dipped in a marsh grass pattern from late winter last year. Well I got a new pattern in earlier this year that I have been wanting to use on one of my long range bolt rifles.

I usually use my 25AR for yotes but there is a time and place to unlimber the heavy barrel 25-06. I hand load for almost everything and its a high speed hitter when tipped with Speer 87gr TNT's. Bucks the wind very well. Gives'em a headache no tylenol in the world is going to cure. Plus almost always when you call in a pair or more and after you take your first shot, the others will run out there a few hundred yds and stop to look back giving you another long range shot on the second one...perfect for this gun. Problem is most guys think they are going to hit a coyote in a dead run and keep shooting, never giving the yote a chance to stop and look back....they almost always will.

This patten is called ATACS and you will more than likely be seeing it more and more. I really does a blend very well. You can change the base coat to suit the major terrain color tone. I chose a light tan because of the dead grass colors I find here in Kansas even in the dead of winter.

The shotgun is an earlier ATACS dip I did. I used a different base and you can see the difference. I usually transport the 25AR, 25-06, & 12ga and use which ever one best suit the given terrain I am working and calling.

Not people so no I won't dip my head...

Rims, flashlights, hard tackle boxes, coffee cups.....really anything that you could somehow submerge then lift out you could do it to. I have done remote controls, I just sealed them up good and let them completely dry over a couple of days before putting batteries back in.

There are hundreds of different patterns also.

Probably the most strangest is I camo dipped my youngest son's Nerf guns because he wanted them camo'd. Hey your only 7 once......

Here is the base pattern for ATACS

pretty cool looking stuff you do there. Bet those yotes don't like you very much, but bet its fun as all get out to see 'em go down.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

So what a oyote bringing these days. Remember running them in the old days with jeeps and Cb's with 00buck for the ranchers. Till some one drunk tomuch and blew a hole in his foot. Not me
