Lightbulb Talk about a bad day

    (Last week)

Ok, I went to meeting over at Division HQ, went inside and a guy came in and said "There's a truck on fire in the parking lot". Said to myself well it can't be mine. Almost 240K on it and runs like a champ. Then he said "I think it has a flat bed on it". So crap, I go outside.....fire trucks, MP's, soldiers all standing around my burnt up truck. Of course because it happened at HQ, 50 millions questions and written statements (Not really that bad but you get the point). It was funny when the MP's asked for insurance and registration......I just pointed to the burned up truck.

So fire marshal ends up telling me this year ford has whats called "Ignition off engine compartment fires" caused by the cruise control module. Now the insurance company of course giving me a hassel, wants credit reports, ECM access (burnt up....good luck), and just standard hassel stuff. I just read on line its the #1 recall in history from any auto maker...never got a recall letter.

Really hot fire....melted the hood, aluminum on the engine, and valve covers

I really liked this truck.......had to actually break down and drive my diesel to go fishing yesterday.

    Oh well....

That just about sucks. Where I used to work we had a ford dealership for 3/4 ton and up. Had a Ford chassis motor home come in looking just like that. It caught on fire while they were sleeping in it. Luckily they got out ok. Took about 6 months between Ford and insurance to get totaled.

That looks like it was one hot fire! Good thing it was not sitting under the eaves of your house or in your garage/shop when it flamed up!

Wow brother that sucks. Hopefully you get a brand new shiney one after all the hassle. Insurance companies............... Dont you wish you could hassle them every month when the payment is due? "I'm going to need to see your company bank statements to make sure you have the money to cover my truck."

Sorry man, hope and the insurance company work out a good payment. They like to take the money but not pay it back.

Glad nobody was hurt. I hope you come out ahead in the end. Maybe with the insurance $$ you can upgrade.

I'm glad I had that part replaced on my Ford.
I am just pullin' your leg.:D
