Had an interesting conversation today with a couple of the area Game Warden's. They were at our work place all morning as a part of Safety day.....Government / Army thing. So I was talking to them and the one guy, not terribly social but he did answer some questions I had, was telling me they were going to be really checking the new bait/minnow law to ensure you were getting them from approved places. He said they are basically looking for minnows brought in from other water areas. Like trapped at milford and took down to geary Lake and so forth. He did admit it would be difficult to enforce. If you bought them you have to have the Green Slip on you from where you bought them. It looks like they way it is going is that you will almost have to prove where you got them from. I told him I sometimes buy them but prefer to trap them. He did say as long as you have a cash register receipt showing where and when the minnows were bought that would work also but they know what minnows cost so if the receipt does not look right....ticket. I have no idea and did not ask what the fine would be.

He then told me there would be a bigger presence on Milford this year as they will be looking at limits, sizes, boater documentation/required equipment more closely. Also dealing more with problem boaters and alcohol. He said they got a new Boston Whaler so they have I believe two boats now. He had almost zero information on Crappie and admitted he had not been on the lake yet but we could expect to see them a lot this year on the water. He asked about water temps and how the fishing had been, what we have been catching.

Then of course info about my boat and stuff.....I know I'll get checked but I am good to go so no worries. In the end like most of these guys I encounter............
