    Default Older Outboard repairs


    Any suggestions on someone close to KC to rebuild the lower unit on an mid-1980s 88HP Evinrude. The motor runs great but I had a used lower unit installed last year and it was full of metal filings when I drained it this fall.

    Try Mike Volker at the Melvern marina. He's kept my old Merc runnin for 33 years.

    You could check John Jewell out at United Boats & Motors . Just a one man show here but he did rebuild a 175 Evinrude for me several years ago.
