    Default Cabelas Wichita

WICHITA, Kansas – Ground was broke this morning on the new Cabela’s at K-96 and Greenwich Rd.

The 80,000 square-foot store is expected to open in the first half of 2012.

That is good news to me I live close to the store.Whats so nice is knowing I can now shop at Cabelas and don't have to pay shipping plus sales tax.

I placed a order last week from Bass Pro a $65 order was over $10 shipping plus sales tax.It was over $15 total.

1 mile from our newly built (last October) home.....My wife if freaking out! haha. She jokes with me that we're going to have to move to the west side of Wichita to get me further from the store. Of course, that Target right there is just about as much trouble for her as the Cabelas for me!

    Agreed on the shipping!

We have 2 Bass Pro Shops and a Cabelas here in Kansas City. Bass Pro has allot bigger selection of Crappie jigs than Cabelas.

    Can't wait neither....
Wonder how it's going to affect the other sporting good stores in Wichita. And if Cabelas does well, will Bass Pro try to put a store on the west side of town.

Yeah I bet it's going to hurt Gander Mtn. some. The city had there chance to get Bass Pro but chose to go with Gander Mtn.to save money.I bet now they wish they would have went with BP.

GM is not real busy whenever I go there and I don't really care for it.So Cabelas here I come.

You can say that for bass tackle too. Maybe only walleye fisherman have a better selection at Cabelas. Still I end up going to both as Cabelas will carry a few things that BP doesn't like the crappie pro stuff, but BPS has the garland mo glos too. If I hunted I would spend way more time at Cabelas.

Yeah, I really think it will hurt Gander. The only reason I really go there is if its something I need last minute and I know no other stores in town will have it. Like River said, it's always slow everytime you go in there. They are supposed to be remodeling, but I don't think that will really change it that much. Hurry up Cabelas!
