Hello, first post here. Been a member for several months now lurking, might as well start posting. Live in southeast Nebraska 4 miles from Kansas and 10 miles from Missouri. Don't hate on this Cornhusker too much, I have strong Kansas ties and own land out in western Kansas (Logan and Thomas counties) some of which has been in our family for over a hundred years.
Fish for crappies mostly but love to target walleye and even fish for the mighty green carp once in awhile. Ten years ago fished only for bass and got burned out on it and branched out. Do ninety percent of my fishing in Kansas and up until recently mostly fished smaller community lakes and state lakes. Fish both the new and old Sabetha lakes, Banner Creek , Brown State fising lake, and once in while Mozingo Lake in Missouri, and several small lakes in southeast nebraska. Getting bored on these small lakes and lookin to fish some of the large corp reservoirs.
Fished Perry for the first time last week during midweek in the afternoon. Found some brushpiles on several points between the dam and the state park ramp, and did decent on 2 inch John Deere green and chartreuse tubes. Had a ton of short strikes and caught twenty one crappies with about half keepers. Did alot of driving around but did not mark as many piles as I thought I would (need to add structure scan transducer to my HDS8). Heading back soon and was wandering where on the lake one can buy minnows. Has any one been doing any good at Perry.
Steve
Welcome. Thumbs Up
I am just pullin' your leg.:D
Welcome to CDC..
The structure scan will reduce your search time for structure and brush allowing you to fish longer and less time motoring around. If you want to catch more fish, get it on your boat.
Welcome to CDC KSHands ClappingHands Clapping steveinsene. There are 1000's of piles in Perry & the LSS-1 will expose them. Rock Creek Marina has minnows as well as other places but seem to be more to the South end of the lake. I will invite you to our 'Crappie Camp' Thumbs Upbeing held at Waconda Lake the 5th,6th & 7th of August. Check out the sticky. I'll prolly head out there the 4th to sore mouth a few before everybody gets thereRoflRoflRofl <*)}}}><
