    Doc I have used the Lagartun thread. Breaks easily and was a bit expensive when I purchased it last year. You can get 140 to 240 denier thread from Barlows much cheaper. Your 100D in the picture will be the strongest of those pictured, but still break. That stuff is good for fly tying.

    Thanks for the info, I found some danville 210 denier at a price I dont think I can pass up in both flat waxed and no wax. Just not sure which would better suit the needs for what i am going to use it for. I am making some micro jigs with kip tail and I need something that will keep it in place and not worry about it coming loose.

    210 should work. It is small enough and can be cinched down fairly tight without breaking. As for waxed vs. unwaxed.... I can't tell that either makes a difference.

    I've never tried it. I've been using ultra thread for years now and love it. It comes in 70,140 and 210. I use 70 the most,even with 1/16. I like small thread heads and with the 70 some jigs you don't even see the thread.Down side is with sharp sickles will cut the thread if you nick the hook while wrapping..
