I thought I had put this on but must have hit wrong key. I finally was successfull in trapping a mole I been chasing. Since uf poor folks can't let anything go to waste, my grandson gave it a shearing of the fine fur. I took a fly-jig I make and quickly tied in a simple tail of some duck flank feather barbs I had handy. I then dudded up a body of my new found treasure, mole hair.:D. Then off to the local canal for a test. I got a couple yellow shiners right off. (groan) We moved to another spot and got on some of the smalish fish there. All in all the mole hair has a nice buggy look and works.
Grab a mole, tie up a jig, and heat up the grease. lol

"good for something" - like the flat eye
If it works it works I don't care what you got to crop I ran out of black one time and the Yorkie ogt a chop job Wife never knew.
Make friends with an animal groomer and you will have more fur than you can ever imagine.
Never would have thought about using mole though but then again I never see the ones that die in their holes here. For such a small critter they sure are mean. Saw a cat one time with one latched onto the base of it's tail.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
I have several mole skins for tying. You can buy them pretty cheap. Now if you want really nice and soft hair get yourself some Mink.

"WELL"...YOU ASKED"NOBODY TELLS ME NOTH'N!!!
grub, Almost every fish I get this time of year is an upper lip hook but one of these wasn't. I moved the hook out where it could be seen, Sure wasn't a fish worth showing off. lol
As with any buggy body, it was dubbed on as I said in the report.
I like it,definitely a gill getter.
