    Default New jig and fly

Hey guys, I was told I should post these pics up over here to. Take a look and tell me what you think. Just started tying my own and never fished with any I have made, Just wondering if I could get a bite on this bad boy!

Also tied this fly up while I was at it, love catching blues on these things!

Looks like you found the forum :D!

That will definitely catch a crappie and that bug jig will kill some gills. Nice color choice. That chart/red is a nice contrast. Is that a marabou tail?

yup marabou is really the only thing I have worked with for putting tails on jigs and stuff, but I see some people use saddle hackle also. I would like to try that also. So what is this jig swap Im hearing about?

Yeah, hackle makes some nice looking tails. Different action and look than marabou, but works well.

The jig swaps are a lot of fun. See the sticky at the top of the board for a complete description. Basically we organize a group of roughly 20 fellas and once we had a lady and we all tie up a jig along a certain theme. Then we trade them will the other folks in the swap. The Shellcracker swap just ended and Jig Swap 7 is going on right now. Check out the threads. We have a pretty good time with it.
