Creativity challenge

Well I did this yesterday and I thought, does this have merit for a finished jig? I don't know yet but I think it has potential. This is a simple sickle jig head with a spaghetti bead slipped onto it that I cut lengthwise with an Exacto saw. I uploaded this one so that anyone that wanted to cut, paste and use it for the next step they came up with can do so. I didn't know if you could do that with photobucket link pictures.

The cut in the bead might lend itself to putting some hackle or other material on the shank and have it come down as legs but it wouldn't be the easiest thing to do. But the "legs" would be toward the hook point so I guess it would be a reversed jig.

I think a silver or brass iridescent spaghetti bead might make a sweet minnow body.

Anyone have any thoughts on what to do to it next to make it fish worthy?

Someone has to have some idea of what to do with it. 25 colors of that bead type so the options are many.

Guess I will have to make up a couple to get everyone elses creative juices flowing.

Needs some sort of tail. But I'd guess fish would hit it if you have the right colors.

A hackle collar for the neck and a tail and you would be ready to go.The tail may be tricky.

Could you tie a little marabou tail, then if the cut in the bead is wide enough to slip it over the hook and tail. But instead of have the slit in the direction you have it, put it facing the other way. A few drops of super glue should hold it all together. Then push some cactus chenille in the slit to hang down like legs held in place by more glue. Or use bucktail instead of marabou and let it extend forward to look as feelers. As above use something in the slit to look like legs and Voila, a shrimp .

In order to put the slit the other way I would have to cut the bead on the other side a little ways to accommodate the sickle hook but it can easily be done. Slipping it over the marabou might be tough but I can always make a larger cut on the back side to go over the tail and body material. The hole in the bead isn't very large but there again it could be drilled out a little larger.

I like the collar idea and I think I am gonna do a couple yellow chart ones and orange ones so I can out some stripes on them to make minnow/baby fish patterns.
