dont know the answer to that but where did you pick your fluid bed up from for i would like to use one as well cut down on some power paint cost hopefully. So i have been told you can do quite a bit more jig heads from a jar of power paint

I've set up my fluid bed, but I'm not sure if I have enough air coming through to be effective. Some of my jigs come out quite well while others are still picking up too much powder. The airator I'm using pushes enough air for a 55 gallon aquarium. I have two air ports on the airator, I'm considering running two lines to the fluid bed. Am I using too much powder in the fluid bed? How much powder do you pour into the container where its effective, 1/4 jar, 1/2 jar?

I use about 1 oz (half of the jar) in my cups. I have a 2 1/2 size cup and It raises about 1/2 inch when air is on. I use a paper bag for my filter I heard coffee filters work well also. I would say if the powder does'nt raise much you might want to either use less powder or check filter. the air supply you are using is plenty good mine is for a 10 gallon and works fine. You did say it has 2 lines I would run a piece of tubing off each to a tee conector then to your bed thats how I did mine.
i made mine and have two air ports and a duel control valve on a 20 gal pump i use about half a jar of paint in a 3 in cup. i noticed that the longer i dip i get more paint or the shorter i get less build up not much time differnce though.
Can somebody post a pic of a fluis bed???

"Say feel'n,"
may have too much heat on your jig at the time of contact w/ the powder!":D it's been the case for me several times before in the past  yet"certain colors only affected"like whites (glow/wht.)",blues,"red,brown...I assumed such,so I tried less time in the oven, and only held jig briefly to the heat gun,if in fact that's how you engineer your jig's one at a time or are you full scale"commercial "spin casting/painting"??? I would say, don't use the oven to the gun method, but" just the gun depending #1 the color, and #2 size of jig say 1/8oz. and above, apply seven to 12 seconds under the gun"Much less time of course for the smaller 1/16oz.to 1/100oz. 3 to 7,8sec...
Good luck finding out where your troubles lie my friend! should ya want'a rap more"? "just p.m. me. I would be happy to answer any questions about the powder paint techniques of "even powder coating applications" of two or more layers, of color's, two toning", preventing the infamous "(cone head)" drip in the curing stage of the hardening" proses"...!lol "Shoot me an e mail, I'll talk to ya buddy"!

Thanks everyone for the info. I guess I could have included a little more info. I made mine out of PVC, the initial ones were 3" wide x 4" deep, I started making them 3" x 3" however. Just felt that 4" was a bit too deep. I use the adustable Tee connector. I use a coffee filter. Cadman sent me the information on making this, he deserves the credit.
I use a heat gun to heat a 1/32 ounce jig which I also pour. Generally 6 to 8seconds on each side. I don't think I'm using too much powder but the heat may be an issue.
I don't notice the powder raising, this may be an air issue.
Yesterday I poured a few more jigs. I tried rapping the side of the container with the jig slightly suspended over the powder. This worked but wasn't very efficient.
Back to the drawing board!
