These, as well as most of the jigs that I tie for crappies are 1/16 oz.

    Hogan,
I really like the colors and the cactus chenile. Where do you get your maribou from? It always looks great. Is that Testors candy apple green with epoxy on the heads? My uncle tied me up to a tree when I was 8 years old for asking to many questions and I still haven't stopped. Thanks!!

Are you still tied to the tree :D:D ?
Testors did not have the color I wanted so I use lime green vinyl and then coated it with epoxy. Eyes are also epoxy.
    Maraboo came from Wapsi.
There is a trick to tying in maraboo.
I have had much better luck if I grab the maraboo from the tip (not the stem) and tie it in from the tip and then fold the fibers back and wrap the hook shank with the maraboo. You will usually end up with maraboo to long but if you pinch the maraboo with the index finger and thumb of your right hand and hold the maraboo while you pinch the maraboo with your left index and left thumb nail and pinch off the excess. Do not cut the maraboo fibers off with your scissors, it will look like an amish bowl haircut.
It is hard to explain but you will basicly be breaking the maraboo off rather than cutting.
