For vertical jigging, I prefer the kip tail. Reason being is when I verical jig, there is very little forward movement of the jig. Without forward movement the maraboo has a tendency to poof out like a ball of fluff. The kip tail keeps a more stream lined profile.
When casting jigs, maraboo, hands down. You cannot beat the action.
