    No, I just dip the lower side of the jig head in the mixture of paint and epoxy, and then I work the epoxy around with a tooth pick.
    You will need to have a jig turner otherwise the epoxy will sag.
    Here is the jig turner that I use. It is made by Flex Coat.

    They look like the best jigs used here for steelhead, should catch crappie big time in clear water. I really like them.
    I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
