    Default Parts costs

    Man

I know it's been awhile since I've had to buy parts for making lures but IT"S CRAZY!!!!!!!!!! Just to show you how long ago it's been since I bought Crane Swivels I have two packs left size 12 and one size 7, they are from Janns Sportsmans Supplies!!!!!!!!!! before they merged with Netcraft!!!

I need size 12 crane swivels in nickle 500-1000
colorado 0 couple hundred maybe 500
Indianna 0 couple hundred maybe 500
    Size 0 split rings

I have done 4 spreadsheets using Janns, Hagens, Stamina, Barlows and I still don't like the overall cost!!!! Any GREAT ideas on other companies to lower the costs for this stuff!!!!!!

    Thanks

No help on that one. I just placed an order with Janns for these same items. That 74 cent sale at BPS for RRs looking pretty good now. I'm glad this is only a hobby and entertainment for me. I was afraid to calculate my break even, eg how many I have to lose to the brush. At least we are stimulating the economy. Wonder if these places sell lubricating fluid ?

I looked at worthco.com and if I order everything from them

    Swivels $50
    blades colorado 0 nickle $15
    blades colorado 0 brass $14
    Indianna 0 nickle $18
    Indianna 0 brass $17
    Split rings $21

Total $135 w/0 ship and handling

The blade prices actually aren't too bad, cause some of the places I checked a few hundred blades cost almost as much as the bulk 1000 bag, but it's hard to believe split rings cost more than spinner blades.

The wife is not pleased so I haven't ordered yet.

    Safety Snap swivels $57/1000 $29.50/500
    Colorado size 0 $36.70/1000 $19.35/500
    Indiana size 0 $38.30/1000 $20.15/500
    Split rings size 1/0 $13.10/1000

Regular snap swivels are $52.60/1000 $27.30/500

(1000) $145.10 + $14.51 for excise tax, not including shipping and what not.
    $82.10 + $8.21 excise tax, not including shipping and what not. (500, 500, 500, 1000)

    (Hagens)
    Regular snap swivels brass $38.15/1000
    Indiana $8.80/1000
    Colorado $9.70/1000
Split rings 17.10/1000 German $5.95 for economy rings $19.10/1000 for American rings but size 1 not 1/0 so a little bigger

Thats $73.75/1000, will calculate the other prices and send you the spread sheet if you want. All prices are straight up 1/2 price for 500 except for the split rings which you add $1 for less than 1000.

Hagen's Fishing Tackle | Lure Manufacturer

Order their catalogs, Hagen's now has Larva Lace also so they have a bunch of fly/jig tying stuff also and better prices one Larva Lace and tying products than before.

I don't buy my bulk materials from anyone else except hooks. But their hook prices may be better too for making jigs.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

All this stuff cost for sure. Even the feathers can cost more at some places for sure. I like the length of the Salt water neck hackle, but it does cost me more to buy them. It is as high wholesale as other neck hackle is retail. Lots of things like that. I just paid a crazy price for chart neck hackle for a pound and I know I can buy them a lot less and die them my self, but I just like this colors at this one place so I got them. It saves over buying packs, but wow is this high.
