    Default Good hackle or not?

eBay Store - Over the Fence Crafts: Rooster, Chicken Feathers, Fly Fishing, Feather Pads

I found this store on ebay and she has a lot of good looking stuff. Prices seem reasonable with the pads having 50-60 feather on them. I have never ordered this way so I need to ask before I do so. Do they look good or are they not gonna be fly/jig tying material worthy?

Also, the seller is gonna list some loose packs and other feathers so if they do look good, keep on eye on her auctions.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

I don't know. Don't even know what a pad is or how big it is or is not. Looks more like saddle hackle, but not real sure. It states it's for a lot of different thing, but doesn't mention fly tying.

Only thing I could figure out was that they are separate feathers put on a cloth pad. The length seems to be decent, 5-8 inches or so.

It does say on some of them they can be used for fly tying but that doesn't mean much. I am sure they can be but maybe not for what we want them for as far as palmering.

Guess I will have to ask her for more information. If they will work, I can't find a way to beat the price.

I bought some a few years ago and for a buck they aren't bad.The hackle feathers are large and are on a cloth pad.The stems on the hackle is thick but you can palmer them.

I use this kind most of the time. They work great. Just cut the hackle of at the pad.
