Great for flies, kinda thin for jig bodies (unless the jigs are tiny.)

Well, I was kinda thinkin of having some in the tail and maby trying to make "wings" or "legs" with it. I really liked the iredescent colors. Think it might work? Most important, would the crappie fishes like it??

I use a lot of hurl but get it from the eye stick (fluffier and the stems are usually stronger), it costs more - but it is worth it. The strung stuff is better for flies.

Flat wax is a better thread - depends on what you are tying.

andreje1975 - too funny - looked real good in the green and natural........

Peacock's to thin and fragile for a crappie jig. If used instead of chenille, you could put head cement on it to strengthen it but then the material would lose that property that makes it cool

Nice stuff, but the loose herl can be fragile and break easy which can be frustrating.Get the herl from the eye stick,it is stronger. I've used it for bodies on small jigs and it is used quite a bit in baitfish patterns for the dorsal fin and along the back or possibly for the lateral line. Trout and bluegill love jigs made with it,just starting to use some on a couple crappie patterns.
