    Default Basic Jig Hooks Sizes For Making jigs

    What are the basic jig hook sizes used when making your own jigs size and model number if known. Fix'en to start making my own jigs and wanna do it right. For it seems everyone in here does there style of crappie fishing right. So i figured i would ask the experts, thanks

    Doc as for size it will depend on the style head your pouring but most guys use molds that call for a 90 degree bend.Weight and size will determine your hooks size but most use from a size 6 and up.The size 4 is probaly tohe most common hook used for Crappie fishing.

    I am going to be using Do-It-Molds from 1/16 down to 1/80 round jig heads. Are there any specific brand that is better than another but still some what reasonable in price

    I mostly use 1/32 oz and 1/64 oz. jigs. I like a #6 hook for the 1/32 and a #8 for the 1/64.

    which are better for pouring gold or bronze hooks
