    Default Jet Jigs

Well here is something a little new. My 9 year old son named them Jet Jigs, he has a good imagination but it fits them well.

They are all on the same jigs just different lengths of materials. The purple one's tail is hackle instead of marabou because I don't have a dark purple marabou but I think it turned out well. Maybe a little short but these are big jigs anyway. 1/8 #1/0 so they are not small jigs. I know, the bottom 2 need shorter bodies but I got it right on the top one. Of course it was tied last.

Now I only have 9 more to do, 3 of each in the same head color but 3 sets with the same body colors.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

    Hey Fish 4 all,
How are you doing the bodies ? Are you weaving the side veins or tying them on top of the chenile. How do those jig heads handle in the brush ? Looks like they won't hang as bad with that profile. What mold is that ? Lots and lots of questions !! I use to live in Brimerton,Wa. in the early 60's. Nice part of the country . Take care and keep the great jig ideas a coming !!

As far as I know it is a custom made mold. I got the jigs from 1aB. The body is woven/crocheted.

As for how they handle brush, couldn't tell you, I haven't used them yet. Only had them a couple months and the lakes have just barely gotten gotten back into fishing shape. I hope to try them soon but not sure I will try these till spring or sumer when the fish are after a bigger bait. The longer tail ones are just under 3" and the jig head itself is 1.75 inches so not a cold water jig in my area.

Anyone else thing the body is too long, too short, tapered looks better, any other comments on it? If not then I am just gonna stick with a variety of body lengths and sizes.

Variety is the way to go with the tails.Mix them up and let the fish tell you what they want.

This is round 2 of the jet jigs. These have a fluorescent chartreuse with a green metallic floss for the body. The picture doesn't do the darker green justice but it really sets of the fl. chart.
