    Default Jigs With Plastic

Hey everyone, I fish at Lake Weiss and the popular jigs there have a plastic body right behind the jig head. Does anyone know how to make that type of jig? I assume that the plastic is poured onto the completed jig. I would like to make a few before my spring trip at the end of March.

Are you talking about Fuzzy Grub type bodies? Some plastic and hair/feathers? There were a couple posts on that not to long ago....

    I will do some digging....

I select 4" worms of the color I want and cut into 1/2" pieces. There are some mfg that will charge $125.00+ per thousand. You can get a mold from MF.

    Default My Version...The Chet Fly

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...er/4908031.jpg I pour and paint the head. Add the eyes and then the clear coat. Tie on the tail whatever it may be. Then into another mold and shoot the plastic in there. Then out of that mold...KEEP THEM SEPERATED..lol...as they will stick together like tar and feathers...lol..then to the water and HOLD ON!!! I hope this helps.....Good Fishin'....GF

The molds I use to make these are custom made. The guy that I got them from is no longer with us. He lost a long battle with heart disease. He was a GREAT guy and one of the best fishermen I have ever met. They are made from bar stock alum. Like Skip mentioned earlier, I spent the better part of a week down south learning how to make these things. They are a great jig even if I do make them....lol. Good Fishin'....GF
