Small willow leaf blades also work and look great. Up here in Ohio the dang gone channel catfish jump on the willow leaf ones so fst the crappies don't stand a chance at them.
Before I was tying my own used to replace standard blade on the Blakemores with the willow leaf. Prefer the hammered silver and gold blades. Personally I don't think it makes much difference to the fish its just I like the way the hammered spoon reflects in the water.
