    Default Vibration versus Fluid Bed

I recently received information from Cadman on building and working with Fluid Beds. I am impressed with what he does.
After I realized how the fluid bed actually worked I started to think what affect vibration would have.
I put together an old hand vibrator which used two straps (I know, I'll never hear the end of this) along with a jar of powder paint. I set this on some course sponge padding, as I felt it vibrated too much on a hard surface. I heated a small jig with a heat gun, turned on the vibrator and inserted the jig.
I was surprised, I thought it worked quite well, a very light even coat of paint.
The whole process to make this only took ten minutes.

    Anyone else tried this?

i would think that would compact the powder paint and the fuild bed pushes air tho. the paint witch in turn fluffs the paint...but this is just my own .02

These FB3 used to have a vibrator built in them until they quit making small 120 volt vibrator motors. Notice the springs on the bottom. My friends commercial buisness uses these old ones that vibrate with very good results.Hardley ever cleans out the eyes.

I did have the issue of the eyes not being clear, does the use of a fluid bed prevent this? If it does it may be an indication I am still getting too much paint on the jig.

It sounds as though I will still build the fluid bed and try it both ways, with and without vibration, its the only way I will know what works best. I will make another post after I build the fluid bed. Be patient, I have this thing called a job, thank god!

    Yes, it was electric.
