I call this method my "Nee No Rig" thats short for need no jig head. When i first had the idea i used a standard crappie tube. I made some insertion weights that slide inside the tube from the back. I then made a band applicator tool, to place the silicone bands on tube that the hook slips under. I got perfect balence and no jig head needed. I have since taken the idea to all types of jigs. Set it up and you get that horiz. hang.
This is what I love about this site, people sharing ideas and using their imagination. This makes perfect sense to me, my brother sees this and I'll be making them for him. He loves to vertical jig, he has more patience than I do.
Great idea!
I only fish the two best days of the year, when its raining and when its not!
i have seen this befor in fla tarpon fishing in boca they need alot of lead to get down in the fast moving water and then theres a 2nd prob when a tarpon breaks water all that lead and there head shakes will pull the hook out
so they came up with something kinda like that but its set up when they set the hook the lead drops off and only leaves the hook in the fish
