My First Jig... it's FUGLY!

I like a tapered body,that's how a shad or minnow's tail tapers.Like ff said,trim the tail a little then add water.

Good job and welcome! As many have said, looks better than my first..... 50 or 60! Most of my starters fell apart, but a few of my "uglies" did catch fish. I figure the big guys just figure to put the thing out of it's misery! Good luck and go get em!

That's pretty darned good for your first crappie magnet...most people end up with the first attempt all over the floor and eventually fishing for crappie in the trash can. If you didn't hurt yourself or anyone else tying your first jig, consider it a raging success. Mine ended in a cuss fit when I sank the barb into my thumb . When you catch your first nice fish with your own creation, you will enjoy this hobby for the rest of your life.

that will catch fish for sure...i think you need to get some jig heads with no collars and you wont have the the big bump in your chenille

Looks good and I bet you had a blast tying it. You'll get a whole new appreciation the first time you feel the thump on one of your home tied jigs!
